Discover scuba / Try scuba program is the ideal afternoon for those of us not yet certified to scuba dive. In a matter of minutes we’ll have you experiencing your first underwater breaths. Soon thereafter we are on the reefs of Cozumel. What are you waiting for?!
Try SCUBA Diving in Cozumel!
The 2-tank Discover Scuba Boat Dive option is fantastic for those people with a full afternoon available. It offers much value as it includes instruction in our private pool to gain familiarity with the equipment and work out the anxiety prior to going into the ocean. Three (3) skills are taught in the pool – mask clearing, regulator recovery, and neutral buoyancy. The added skill of assisted neutral buoyancy will enhance in-water comfort, control, and confidence which in turn promotes longer dive times. After a break for lunch (not inlcuded in package), we head to the ocean and complete two dives in the Cozumel Marine Park from our boats.
2-tank Discover Scuba Boat Dive
- Two (2) afternoon dives done from a boat inside the Marine Park
- Instruction provided the morning of diving at our on-site private pool
- Four (4) skills completed in the pool
- Dives typically last 45-60 minutes
- Dives can be credited as your first dive should you wish to complete the full open water certification
Typical Schedule for the 2-tank Try Scuba boat dive
- 10am – In the private classroom & pool
- 12 noon – 1pm Lunch
- 1:30pm – 6pm – Diving in the ocean

Don’t Miss Diving in Cozumel because of a Tight Schedule!
The 1-tank Discover Scuba Shore Dive option is fantastic for those people with a limited amount of time on the island – cruise ship divers on a tight schedule, for example. We meet directly at the beach (possibly walking distance from your ship) and complete cllasroom and theory discussion at the water’s edge. Then into the ocean we go to complete three (3) skills – mask clearing, regulator recovery, and neutral buoyancy. The added skill of assisted neutral buoyancy will enhance in-water comfort, control, and confidence which in turn promotes longer dive times. Once comfortable in the shallow water we complete our dive experience by swimming to deeper water and the corals.

- One (1) afternoon dive done from the shore
- Instruction provided at the beach
- Four (4) skills completed at the beach to begin your dive
- Dives typically last 45-60 minutes
- Dives can be credited as your first dive should you wish to complete the full certification
Typical Schedule for the 1-tank Try Scuba shore dive
- 10am – Meet at the beach
- 10:45am – Begin the dive
- 12 noon – Finished
