Captain: Domingo
Divemaster / Instructor: Ray
Weather: Rainy, but the family is in great spirits!
Water Temperature: 80 degrees
Dive One
Site: Palancar Caves
Max Depth: 40 feet
Dive Time: 35 minutes
Key Animals: Christmas Tree Worms, Oceanic Triggerfish
Visibility: 100+ feet
Notes: Discover scuba is awesome! Bianca knew how to snorkel so the process was smooth, we practice in shallow water the basic skills and she seems ready to reef dive, lucky she we found a turtle eating and nearby was a coral head with many Christmas tree warms, also a couple of secretary blennies, at the end of the dive a school of trigger fish were swimming against the current and they passed very close to us, nice!
Dive Two
Site: Cedral Pass
Max Depth: 40 feet
Dive Time: 40 minutes
Key Animals: Nurse Shark, Puffer Fish, Black Grouper
Visibility: 100+ feet
Notes: After a few minutes snorkeling Bianca and family was ready to dive again. This shallow reef is perfect, as soon as we enter the water a shark was swimming past. Then the grouper moved from under a coral to the open water changing color, and that cute puffer fish was looking at us with those green eyes, really close, that is just a blast as first day of diving ever. Pretty sure Bianca and family will be certified soon!
Spirobranchus giganteus, the Christmas Tree Worm, comes in all shades of colors.
